CBD Benefits: How CBD Oil May Help You

Reading time – 6 minutes

One of the biggest reasons the CBD industry has grown so much in the past few years is because of CBD's benefits. And it isn't just specific to one wellness issue. CBD can help you from head to toe!

You could fill a book with all of the research and benefits of CBD oil, but we thought we would take a quick overview of some of the most talked-about benefits of taking CBD oil. From anxiety to pain relief, there is something CBD can help you with.

Pain Relief

CBD has a long history of making us feel better and has been used for pain relief for hundreds of years. People in ancient Egypt used it as an aid for pain due to childbirth. Even Queen Victoria was said to use a tincture of CBD for her menstrual cramps. Today – it’s one of the most common reasons people use CBD.

We all experience some pain. You stub your toe. You have an intense workout. But chronic pain is different and can be devastating. It can last weeks, months or even years. CBD is something that has caught the attention of people who suffer from this.

Research has found that CBD can help reduce chronic pain by working with endocannabinoid receptors and neurotransmitters. This system is involved in the processing of pain signals. CBD oil can affect this system, especially when working with other cannabinoids that are found in broad-spectrum or distillate products. Amphora’s Mend  formula is an excellent choice for anyone who needs to reduce tension, aches and pains.

CBD can block certain receptors and increases the number of natural cannabinoids in the body. This can help  with inflammation. A study of rats found that CBD had anti-inflammatory properties that can reduce nerve pain. Another study showed that it helped people  with multiple sclerosis with walking more easily without pain. As research grows, more findings pop up to prove the benefits of CBD oil for dealing with pain.

Anxiety

Everyone feels anxiety at some point in their life. Maybe you have a big presentation at work, or you're going out on a blind date. It's when that anxiety becomes overwhelming and chronic that it becomes a disorder.

It’s also common. It’s estimated that around 5% of the UK population  deals with an anxiety disorder, and if you're a woman, you're even more likely to suffer from it.

Lots of different studies have shown that CBD may be able to help with anxiety. Some research has shown that it can change the way our receptors respond to serotonin.  Another study showed that it helped people with social anxiety disorders with a specific fear of public speaking. Another study of people who have social anxiety disorder found that CBD reduced their anxiety by effecting activity in limbic and paralimbic brain areas.

Acne

If you’ve been a teenager, then you’ve probably had acne, and then you probably know how annoying it is. The NHS estimates that around 95% of people aged 11 – 30 have experienced it. And it doesn’t just happen when you’re a teenager. It can follow you into your adulthood. It seems like for some of us we just go from pimples to wrinkles, and there's no in-between.

It isn’t just found on your face but also your back and chest, and it can range from mild to severe with scarring and cysts. During puberty or any hormonal changes, our grease producing glands can go into overdrive and cause inflammation and pus. It’s gross. But this is where CBD can come in handy.

Several studies have shown that CBD can help by preventing glands from producing sebum (that oil on your skin). That sebum is good for moisture, but too much can lead to breakouts.

Neurological Disorders

Hundreds of millions of people around the world deal with neurological disorders.  They affect your brain, spinal cord, muscles and nerves all over your body.

Some of the most common are epilepsy, Alzheimer’s and multiple sclerosis.

Cannabinoids are neuroprotective, meaning that they protect the function and structure of the nerve cell. In studies of animals, CBD was found to reduce brain damage when nerve function isn’t as good as it could be.

There has been lots of exciting research in this area because CBD has wide-rangingcapabilities and a lack of side effects in a variety of neurological conditions and diseases.’

Heart Health

High blood pressure or hypertension is not good for your health and is also really common. That’s a bad combo. The WHO estimates that over one billion  of us have it, and less than 1 in 5 people has it under control.

It's a massive cause of premature death and is linked to things like heart attacks, strokes and brain and kidney diseases.

CBD has been shown to help reduce vascular tension  and help with cholesterol levels in the body. Another study  found that people who took CBD had lower blood pressure before and after being exposed to stress. They also found that the heart pumped more efficiently, meaning it could be helpful for people who have hypertension and anxiety.

Substance Abuse

Substance abuse is a significant health issue around the world and in particular, in the UK.  Research has found £36 billion is spent every year on treatment relating to drug and alcohol abuse in the UK. It also found that the UK had the highest rate of addiction to opioids in Europe.

A study found that CBD  may be effective in helping people with heroin addictions because it helps manage ‘the anxiety and cue/craving cycle.’  Researches have said that  the fact that patients with substance use disorders often have symptoms that are reduced by CBD such as anxiety, mood symptoms, insomnia, and pain, suggests that CBD might be ‘beneficial for treating opioid-dependent individuals.’

Not only does it help with the actual addiction itself, but it’s also shown through research to help with a lot of the withdrawal symptoms like nausea, pain and anxiety.

Sleep

With the hustle and bustle of life, sleep can be hard to come by. Sleep is made even harder if you deal with anxiety or sleep disorders. Over the counter drugs aren't always effective and can come with some risks.

Research has shown  that CBD can interact with receptors that influence the ‘sleep/wake’ functions of the brain. CBD can help with that. One study found that CBD helped nearly 80% of participants with anxiety and over 65% with their sleep issues.

Amphora’s ZZZ  is a great way to combat restlessness and to find calm and relaxation for a good nights rest if you want to try CBD for sleep.

To really see the benefits of CBD oil, it's usually best to go with a broad spectrum or distillate product. Broad-spectrum CBD distillate is the only kind Amphora uses. That way, you get the effects of all of the unique elements of the cannabis plant. When they all work together, they produce something called the entourage effect that enhances the power of the CBD oil and its impact on the issues you're targeting with CBD oil. So, whether you’re having trouble sleeping or want to feel some relief after a long workout – CBD oil can help with that.
